There have been many publicly acknowledged adoptions of SABSA (such ad the UK Ministry of Defense, Canadian Government, The World Bank, Westpac (a top-tier bank in Australia) and a number of Australian Government agencies - to mention just a few.

We're inviting you to nominate here if your own company or government department has also adopted SABSA.

There's some recent news out of the United States where NIST has shown interest in SABSA in a number of areas.

I will quote the following directly from the SABSA Group on LinkedIn

(with some small edits, as the head of the working group seems to have a problem with having her name published, even though it appears more than 25,000 times in a Google search Sick

(I will leave the author's name off as well, in case the angry lady starts picking on him Evil ):

"Yesterday, I attended the National Institutes for Sciency and Technology (NIST) Smart Grid Interoperability Panel (SGIP) Spring 2011 Face-to-Face Meeting in Nashville, TN.

There was a half day briefing on current activities of the Cyber Security Working Group (CSWG). Among the topics discussed was "Security Architecture Direction and SABSA Overview". SABSA was announced as the directionable framework for Smart Grid Cybersecurity Architecture.

If you are interested in what was presented, please see the following links:

Even though this information is in the public domain on LinkedIn and also on the NIST Twiki, ALC Training was attacked (and a complaint lodged with the SABSA Institute) for reporting it and, as is normally expected, giving credit where credit is due.

Some of those links have stopped working (surprise), and this person has now said she will remove SABSA from the SmartGrid effort. Ghost

Abandoning the agreed and proven architecture because some barely-related person said something completely innocuous (and in good faith, reporting public domain information) smacks of . . . er, we'll let you decide how much sense it makes. Crazy

Perhaps NIST stands for "Not Interested in Security Technology"? As for keeping things "secret", the disclaimer at the bottom of http://collaborate.nist.gov/twiki-sggrid/bin/view/SmartGrid/WebHome starts with "PLEASE NOTE: This wiki is a collaborative website. NIST does not necessarily endorse the views expressed, or concur with the facts presented on these sites. Further, NIST does not endorse any commercial products that may be mentioned on these sites.
