The SABSA Matrix and the SABSA Service Management Matrix have not been updated since the late 90s. We have redesigned them to deliver the improvements your feedback has requested over the years. We have not fundamentally changed the structure or principles of the matrices (very few elements have changed position) but have focussed on terminology update and consistency.
First and foremost we hope we have made much clearer distinction between the matrices - the SABSA Matrix contains architectural deliverables and the SABSA SM Matrix contains management activities distributed appropriately throughout the layers.
Some inconsistencies in terminology have been repaired and the SM matrix has been updated to align directly with ITIL V3 process terminology.
The new versions also create clearer definition through the addition of cell content titles.
We'll be posting the details of the new matrices and discussing the detail, implications, and any suggestions for further improvement. Keep your eye on this section for more information as it is released.
